The Pricing Strategies module in Pricen helps you efficiently manage pricing decisions across different use cases — from routine manual updates to advanced dynamic and AI-powered strategies. Below is a breakdown of the available strategy types and how to use them effectively.

1. Price Change

Use this strategy to manually increase or decrease product prices. It’s ideal for one-off pricing updates that need to be planned in advance.

Key features:

  • Apply fixed or percentage-based price adjustments.

  • Set target margins.

  • Schedule the start and end dates.

  • See impact forecasts: margin, profit, revenue, volume, and competitor prices.

2. Dynamic Pricing

This is Pricen’s automation engine for pricing. Set it once, and it keeps your prices competitive and responsive to the market in real time.

Key features:

  • Build pricing rules based on competitor prices, indices, or market trends.

  • Automatically calculate prices for selected products.

  • Set conditions like “market minimum” or use multiple competitor sources.

  • Track price suggestions, competitor price indexes, and consumer indices.

Use this when you want pricing to react dynamically to external triggers.

3. Price Optimization

Powered by AI demand models, this strategy calculates optimal prices to help you meet your financial targets.

Key features:

  • Choose your optimization focus (e.g., profit maximization with sales protection).

  • Set grouping (optimize individually or in groups).

  • Protect profit or sales drops.

  • Start optimization from current price, cost, or another anchor.

Perfect for achieving data-driven results tailored to your revenue or margin goals.

4. Promotions

Use the Promotions strategy to plan and execute temporary price drops — for events, campaigns, or limited-time offers.

Key features:

  • Set new temporary prices and duration.

  • Forecast margin, profit, revenue, and volume.

  • Compare against competitor prices.

  • Highlighted price change impact shown in red or green.

A great tool for running seasonal promotions or testing short-term discounting strategies.

5. Markdown

Markdowns are designed to help you clear inventory while minimizing losses or even boosting profits.

Key features:

  • Choose your markdown method: Get rid of stock, Maximize revenue, or Maximize profit.

  • View product details like EAN, SKU, brand, margin, and suggested markdown price.

  • Get clear price suggestions with calculated reductions.

Use Markdown when phasing out products, dealing with overstock, or prepping for new collections.

🔄 Switching Strategies

You can switch between strategy types directly in the UI while preserving your product selection. Just click the strategy type dropdown to change direction as needed — whether you're shifting from manual to automated, or adjusting from clearance to optimization.

With Pricing Strategies in Pricen, you gain control, insight, and flexibility to manage prices at scale — whether you're a category manager, pricing analyst, or head of commercial strategy.
